The Fire Evacuation Lift
The Fire Evacuation Lift is designed to give fire fighters more ease of space to move vertically through a building, and to assist in the rapid evacuation of occupants during a fire emergency. It is a mandatory requirements in all buildings 70 meters and above in Mumbai. These fire evacuation lifts are provided in buildings in addition to regular passenger and fire lifts. They are the safest devices on the market to bring trapped residents to fire evacuation points.
The Saviour fire evacuation lift is in compliance with:

The fire evacuation lift has a 8-15 passenger capacity with speed to cover total travel in 60 seconds. It has five power sources – normal power, emergency alternative power, generator power, UPS power for 30 minutes, and power from fire truck – to ensure 100% power supply for normal and safe running. The lift is equipped with low smoke/FRLS wires and cables, along with a metal trough to safeguard the lift shaft wiring.
The fire evacuation lift is a gearless machine with reliability and high perfomance designed to be safer than fire shoots, lowering devices, etc. Our fire evacuation lifts are installed and designed in accordance with the PWD authorities’ suggestions for the best safe locations and designs.

Key Features
Landing Door
Mid-landing provides safe passage for victims as well as firemen to successfully perform the rescue operation. It helps in managing the crowd in a systematic evacuation queue. These landing doors are heat resistant to prevent smoke from entering the lift shaft.
- Two hours fire rating certified door by Gujarat Test House, as per BS:476 and IS:3614
- Two hours fire rated vision panel (suitable as per door size) on each leaf
- Door operator with encoder, built with VVVF frequency controller with motor for higher accuracy and smoother operation of the door
IOT-based Control Panel
The fire alarm system of the building is connected to the SFL Control Panel to trigger the emergency response system, which will send a mass message to the designated individuals. The control panel with initiate:
- Auto-notifications from SMS to the nearest fire station in case of a fire
- SMS notification to security and property management team
- SMS notification to building/society residents
- System notification to the Saviour Rescuevator Quick Response team
Trap Door
The fire evacuation lift is equipped with a trap door on the roof of the car for emergency evacuation. The trap door can be accessed with the provided portable rope ladder.
- External rescue procedure: The fire fighter opens the trap door on the car roof, pulls out the ladder stored on the car and places it into the car. The fire fighter and the trapped person escape through the open landing door if necessary, by using the ladder.
- Self-rescue procedure: The trapped fire fighter opens the trap door and climbs to the car roof, using either stepping points in the car or the stored ladder. If necessary, the trapped fire fighter uses the ladder to release the landing door lock from the inside and escape
Jerk-Free Backup System
his system removes the jerkiness and the darkness instantaneously in the event of a power failure. The jerk-free backup system ensures smooth and easy operation under all conditions.
Two-Way Communication System
The inbuilt button in LOP and COP enables occupants to communicate easily with lift operators and vice versa in case of an emergency.
Emergency Supplies
Each lift cabin is outfitted with fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and first aid boxes to ensure maximum safety for occupants and firemen.
Wool Ceramic and Combustion Resistance
A 20-50 mm heat resistant ceramic wool sheet is sandwiched between the top and bottom SS panels to prevent the heat from reaching inside the cabinet.
Ground Control
The control of the lift can be transferred by a toggle switch provided at the ground floor lobby. The lift is equipped with Dual Operating Panel – one inside the lift and another at the ground floor lobby – allowing fire personnel to take control of the lift from a safe zone without entering the risk area. The lift is also equipped with a Supervisory Panel option-screen on the ground floor to allow firemen to see the passengers through CCTV connectivity.
Supervisory Panel
The Supervisory Panel of the fire evacuation lift is designed to monitor lift operations during fire emergencies. It displays the lift status, floor position, and fault indications in real time.
